15th International Conference on Music Perception and Cognition 10 th triennial conference of the European Society for the Cognitive Sciences of Music Hosted by Concordia University, Department of Music and Performing Arts Research Cluster (Le PARC)

ICMPC! ESCOM! The very sound and lilt of the letters light a gleam in music researchers’ eyes all over the world. The International Conference for Music Perception and Cognition and the conference of the European Society for Cognition of Music respectively, these two events bring together members of the psychology of music and neuroscience of music community to share their latest cutting-edge studies. Every six years the conferences coincide.
The joint 2018 conference, based in Graz, Austria under the leadership of current ESCOM President Richard Parncutt, will have three other international hubs: Montreal (Canada), La Plata (Argentina), and Sydney (Australia). Digital technologies will permit reciprocal live-streaming and other forms of electronic communication between hubs. Researchers and all other interested parties are encouraged to attend and present at their nearest hub, in an effort to to minimize the carbon footprint of international travel. Hear a talk from elsewhere while seated in Montreal; likewise, stream your talk from Montreal to the other three hubs. Live question periods will be facilitated. Posters, too, will be shared between hubs.

Explore this website for further information about the Montreal hub. Links are provided for the main site in Graz as well as the other two hubs.  Enjoy, and we hope to see you with us in person in Montreal, July 23 – 28, 2018.
